October has gone...November, flying by!

Just passing by my blog....I haven't been a good blogger this year!
But did want to "make a note" so I can remember when I look back etc.

I enjoyed 12 days at the condo the 1st weeks of October! Weather was glorious, and the main event was SHRIMP FESTIVAL! Barbara & Missy came down to join me for that weekend! We had a lot of fun, and enjoyed the sand, surf, seafood and music too! I can't WAIT for next year! This was soooo much fun!

Also celebrated mom's 1 year anniversary of her cancer surgery. She has done so well, & we are all so thankful that it was caught early!

Thanksgiving is coming! & that means Christmas can't be far behind!
Gobble, gobble & HO-Ho-HO!

A wedding on my Birthday!

Anna & Stephen got married on my birthday!
How fun to be a brides maid & eat wedding cake & celebrate my birthday all on the same day!

Wow! It's August!

Well, summer has flown by....and I am SO behind on blogging ...
Let me see what I can add to my page to get me caught up....
A trip to the beach in late April...early May! It was wonderful...stayed about 17 days...some by myself, time with girlfriends and no rain while it was raining every day at home!
I couldn't have picked a better time to go...

Dinner at "The Crab Trap"

After the girls left I went to "Art In The Park" in Foley on a Saturday afternoon!
It was sooooooooo much fun!

A Post for April....

April!
Spring! Everything coming alive, growing, turning green,
birds singing, flowers blooming!

And Easter!

This April has been a very difficult one. On Monday, April 6th, my dear sweet friend,
Gina McCreless passed away,...on to her heavenly Father!
Gina fell ill in June of 2008 with a brain tumor. Oh how she fought, with chemo, radiation etc...
She was so strong & kept a positive attitude thru out this ordeal.

Her death came as such a shock to me. I was so hoping that she'd win this battle. She was too young to suffer such an early death at only 42 years young. I've lost people in my life....but this was the first time for it to be a "girlfriend" and someone so close to the same age as me!

Sweet Gina--- I will miss you for the remainder of my years here on this earth!

But I praise God, because I know that you knew HIM,...& I know that you are with the Lord today, running in heaven & waiting for the rest of us to join you one day!
I will always remember you at the beach & the fun times we shared there!

I wanted to place your obit, here on my blog, so that I can always remember.
Funeral for Gina Renee McCreless, 42, of Decatur will be Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Dr. C. Richard Mason officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Miss McCreless, who died Monday, April 6, 2009, was born Oct. 6, 1966, in Morgan County to James and Patsy Bolton McCreless. She graduated from Austin High School and Athens State College. She was employed by First American Title (Thomas Abstract) for 18 years. Gina was a member of Central Baptist Church, a Commodore for the Decatur Chamber of Commerce and a past member of the Decatur Jaycees. She was an avid runner. Her grandparents, Bart and Ruth Bolton and Burl McCreless, preceded her in death. Survivors include her parents, James and Patsy McCreless of Decatur; grandmother, Rosebud McCreless of Gadsden; and special friend, Rob Francis of Decatur. Pallbearers will be Brad King, Noel King, Dr. Paul McCain, David McCreless, Bobby Lang and Calvin McBride.

Easter was also different this year. It was a very meaningful time, more so with having lost Gina at the start of Holy Week. Every service spoke to me twice as much. Thank you Lord for your indiscribable gift of salvation. Thank you for caring me thru one of the most difficult months of my life. Thank you for carrying Gina home to be with you!
Here's a few pictures from our "Good Friday" Night Service.

March Ramblin's

Well, March came in with....
SNOW!! But it was on a Sunday & I just didn't take time to take pictures of it. It was very light
accumulation, as was mostly gone by the time we came out from chruch services.
I've been staying fairly busy. The Singles Annex at church is getting a "makeover", so been trying to help with that and paint etc. Makes me want a makeover at my own house!
Trying to stay on track with exercise too.
Spring is coming & I'm so ready for it! Gardening, trips to the lake & the beach!
Well, just changing out my blog background so thought I'd add a little post too!

Happy 1st Day of Spring!

February is FLYIN' BY!

Well, I'm not doing to good at keeping my blog updated. Seems that posting is a once a month thing lately! So here's a few pictures to catch up "January Deer Season at Austin Lake Lodge"!

I got a REALLY nice 9 point buck, at the "Chevy Stand"...on January 29th at about 445pm.
He weighed about 158 pounds & had a unique "palmetto brow tine" that was about 9 inches in height! The inside spread was 19 1/2 inches!
Here's a few more shots...this first one is Tammy & Holly at the grain bins.

Here's David Allan with a coyote that we caught in one of the traps.

Nice 8 point that daddy got this season....

The other event for February would be daddy's TOTAL pacemaker replacement on Wednesday, Feb. 11th at Princeton's. We'd thought that MAYBE it would be just the battery, but since he's had his pacemaker in about 15 years now, it was finally time to replace everything....lead wires and all. Kinda scary, but hey, these doctors know what they're doing!
He had to stay 2 nights and we got to come home on Friday the 13th....a significant date in my parents lives, as they got engaged on a Friday the 13th in November of 1950....so EVERY Friday the 13th is celebrated! haha!
Anyway, he is recovering well & we are all looking forward to SPRING!

Happy New Year...

Well, it's about to be the 3rd week of January, so I decided I'd better post before it's February! Time surely seems to FLY....it goes faster every year! I can't believe it's 2009! NINE! how can that be...seems just yesterday we turn 2000!?!

New Year's Eve was spent at Austin Lake Lodge & came in fairly quietly....other than a few fireworks shot off by David Allan & his friend Nick! haha!
I got to do a little hunting too & just enjoyed some "down time"!

I keep thinking about New Year's resolutions & I do have a few! I'm trying, just as I do every New Year, to start back exercising, eating better, loose those pounds that I've gained etc...but I also hope to read more, listen more, spend more time with friends, blog more, and mainly just try to do my best at whatever this year brings!

A few Sunday's ago, Dr. Bill referenced Corrinthians 13, the Love Chapter....and he replaced the word LOVE with "your name"....KAY is patient, KAY is kind, ...etc...this is such a great thing to do & to ponder! So I hope to read that & think on these things that I can do in the New Year!
Kay hopes all things, endures all things....Wow! Powerful stuff!
Happy New Year!
