April!
Spring! Everything coming alive, growing, turning green,
birds singing, flowers blooming!
And Easter!
This April has been a very difficult one. On Monday, April 6th, my dear sweet friend,
Gina McCreless passed away,...on to her heavenly Father!
Gina fell ill in June of 2008 with a brain tumor. Oh how she fought, with chemo, radiation etc...
She was so strong & kept a positive attitude thru out this ordeal.
Her death came as such a shock to me. I was so hoping that she'd win this battle. She was too young to suffer such an early death at only 42 years young. I've lost people in my life....but this was the first time for it to be a "girlfriend" and someone so close to the same age as me!
Sweet Gina--- I will miss you for the remainder of my years here on this earth!
But I praise God, because I know that you knew HIM,...& I know that you are with the Lord today, running in heaven & waiting for the rest of us to join you one day!
I will always remember you at the beach & the fun times we shared there!
I wanted to place your obit, here on my blog, so that I can always remember.
Funeral for Gina Renee McCreless, 42, of Decatur will be Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Dr. C. Richard Mason officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Miss McCreless, who died Monday, April 6, 2009, was born Oct. 6, 1966, in Morgan County to James and Patsy Bolton McCreless. Gina was a member of Central Baptist Church, a Commodore for the Decatur Chamber of Commerce and a past member of the Decatur Jaycees. She was an avid runner. Her grandparents, Bart and Ruth Bolton and Burl McCreless, preceded her in death. Survivors include her parents, James and Patsy McCreless of Decatur; grandmother, Rosebud McCreless of Gadsden; and special friend, Rob Francis of Decatur. Pallbearers will be Brad King, Noel King, Dr. Paul McCain, David McCreless, Bobby Lang and Calvin McBride.
Easter was also different this year. It was a very meaningful time, more so with having lost Gina at the start of Holy Week. Every service spoke to me twice as much. Thank you Lord for your indiscribable gift of salvation. Thank you for caring me thru one of the most difficult months of my life. Thank you for carrying Gina home to be with you!
He IS Risen! He IS Risen Indeed!
